Praising Jesus for the Small Things in Life

Sometimes God brings you unexpected blessings in the smallest forms imaginable. This photograph represents one of those small blessings for me. I woke up one morning, and God sent this beautiful monarch butterfly into my dew-laden backyard. I wasn’t sure if I would have time to get my camera and come back for photos before it flew off, but thankfully, God kept it in place for me. I was able to get a few photographs of it as it stretched its bright orange wings before fluttering off to its next destination. It’s one of the many things I love about living so close to nature, as opposed to within a big city. I am able to enjoy little encounters with nature and am able to see God’s handiwork up close and personal.

God created all things, even this beautiful butterfly for its short life. Sometimes you wonder, “What if God created this beautiful little butterfly, simply so that today I could view it, be amazed by it, and thank God for its visit to me?” After all, God enjoys His children. It reminds me of Keith Green talking about a song he wrote, thanks to God, after not being able to write one in two months. It is called “When I Hear The Praises Start”. (Listen here.) One of the lyrics is: “When I hear the praises start, I want to rain upon you, blessings that will fill your heart!”

Have you praised Jesus over something small lately? Something fleeting and yet beautiful? I encourage you to do so. And watch God smile at you and bring you more to be thankful for. God bless you today, friends. 🙏🏻❤️🥰
